Mr Hoppy is an old man who is in love with his neighbour, Mrs Silver. They both live alone. Mrs Silver has got a tortoise, Alfie, and she loves it, but she wants it to be bigger. Mrs Hoppy invents a secrets song which can make it possible. He sings this night after night and her tortoise becomes bigger, but what really happens is...

I think it’s a great story. It’s a romantic book and I would recommend it to everyone who’s in love. It’s interesting the way the woman falls in love and it’s amazing the great effort that Mr Hoppy makes to make Mrs Silver fall in love with him. It’s a book easy to understand and there are several pictures which can help you to follow the plot. I think Mr Hoppy is an example of strength and a hard worker. The book shows us that if you are jealous you can’t think properly and you make lots of mistakes,so you must control yourself.
