The book tells the story of Rodion Raskolnikov, a student of Law who has to leave College for lack of money. In search of funds he meets an old woman who is a money-lender. Raskolnikov decides to murder her, because he thinks she is a useless person.

Later, Raskolnikov is tormented by guilt. He is taken by the police and sent to a prison in Siberia, to where Sonia, Marmeladov’s daughter, accompanies him. Raskolnikov realizes that he loves her and ...

Crime and Punishment shows the differences between high and low social class, and how much the feeling of guilt can affect us.

I recommend this book to young adults, because it can teach us to think things out before acting.
